The School Day
The school day for pupils is slightly different depending on their age:
The school year is 190 days for pupils and 195 days for staff. Parents and carers receive advance notification of these staff training days, or unforeseen changes caused by emergencies.
Please note that no child is allowed to leave the school premises at lunchtime.
If for whatever reason a parent or carer is going to be late for pick up, please give the school a ring so we are able to reassure your child that someone is their way.
We will only dismiss your child to people named on their collection list. Please ensure this is kept up to date with the school office.
If your child has a packed lunch, this must be provided in a lunch box or bag, clearly labelled with the child’s name and class. When your child has finished their lunch, they will bring their uneaten food back home with them; this is to ensure parents can monitor what their child is eating. It is recommended that your child is provided with a balanced meal, which should not include fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal under the Universal Infant Free School Meals system - we would encourage all of our children to take up this offer and have a delicious, hot school meal each day.
Some families may be eligible to receive means tested free school meals. To apply for free school meals please go to: https://www.togetherforchildren.org.uk/free-school-meals
